Comments:

Gorrell explained that the Community Reinvestment Area Negotiation Committee approved this tax abatement for Baker Properties Ashland, LLC. The 180,000 square foot building will be built in the new industrial area located on US Rt. 250 North. The terms of the tax incentive include a 100% tax exemption for fifteen years for the building, the hiring of thirty full-time employees resulting in a minimum of $600,000 in new payroll, and the signing of the supplemental agreement with the schools for the direct payment of their applicable taxes. With the creation of this new business there is also a possibility for future expansion.

Moved by Stewart and seconded by Detrow that the Ordinance be passed on the first reading.

Moved by Wertz and seconded by Valentine that the rules requiring the reading on three separate days be suspended and that the Ordinance be passed on the second and third readings.
