Officer Shipper became an auxiliary police officer in 1982 and was sworn
in as a full-time officer in June, 1983. He was assigned to road patrol
until becoming the Division's first D.A.R.E. officer in March, 1993. Since
then, he has received certification in the middle school, high school,
parent program and mentor for the Ohio D.A.R.E. program. In 2000, he was
selected as one of four mentors from the U.S. to train the Philippine National
Police in manila, Philippines. He currently teaches the elementary program
in all of the City Schools, along with St. Edward's School and Ashland Christian
School. When he isn't teaching the D.A.R.E. program, he enjoys telling
jokes, gardening, reading and traveling. He and his family are active
members of Trinity Baptist Church. "Only you can say 'no' to drugs
and violence so take a stand for yourself or you may fall for anything". ~

Officer Icenhour began his law enforcement career in
Columbus, Ohio with the Ohio State University Police Department. In 1990,
Officer Icenhour joined the Ashland Police Division as a road patrol
officer. Since then, the has expanded his duties to include S.R.T.
(Special Response Team), F.T.O. (Field Training Officer), Bike Patrol instructor
and D.A.R.E. Officer. He is teaching the D.A.R.E. program part-time at the
Ashland Middle School and High School.
Officer Icenhour spends his leisure time with his family
and they enjoy camping, fishing and biking. They are active members at Park
Street Brethren Church. |
