Banner Policy

The City of Ashland, Ohio has available space for Pole Banners to be displayed recognizing community based activities.  There are 55 poles on various streets in the City.  The City will, at no cost, install and remove the banners.

Usage is for not-for-profit organizations. Time limits are subject to accommodating other banner requests and the discretion of City Administration. Signs must be designed according to specifications provided by the City.

Pole Locations

1.    East Main Street, Orange Street to Arthur Street, Both Sides.
2.    West Main Street, Orange Street to Claremont, Both Sides.
3.    Church Street, Main Street to 2nd Street, Both Sides.
4.    Orange Street, Main Street to 2nd Street, East Side.
5.    Center Street, Main Street to Maple Street, Both Sides.
6.    Center Street, from Main Street to 2nd Street, East Side.
7.    Union Street, Main Street to South Street, Both Sides.
8.    Union Street, Main Street to 2nd Street, Both Sides.
9.    Cleveland Avenue, West of Arthur Street, North Side.
10.    J Parking Lot.
11.    Johnny Appleseed Park

Organizations wishing to display banners must submit a banner application to the Mayor's Office for his approval.

Approval may be denied for any of the following reasons (but not limited to):

  1. The sign is of a commercial nature.

  2. The sign has a products logo(s).

  3. The sign is offensive, derogatory, or political in nature.

  4. The organization is a political action group.

  5. The organization is discriminatory in its membership.

  6. The organization isn't a local establishment (6 months).
