| Police Division |
The Division of Police provides police protection to the 24,000 residents of the City of Ashland. Our patrol area covers approximately 10 square miles and 86 miles of roads.
Our police services include, but are not limited to, road patrol; an Investigative Bureau (including a narcotics unit affiliated with METRICH, a multi-county drug investigation Bureau); a K-9 unit; Bicycle patrol, DARE program; and School Resource Officer; and a Special Response Team which has county-wide responsibilities.
The Division's authorized strength is 32 sworn officers and necessary civilian support services.

The Division moved into the new Ashland City Justice Center in 2000. The City Justice Center also houses the Ashland Municipal Court and Director of Law. It is part of a Justice Complex which sits on 15 acres on East Main Street in the City of Ashland. The Office of the County Sheriff and the County Jail are also part of this complex. |
The current Police Officer Civil Service List will expire on May 26, 2008.
