Special Response Team
The Ashland Police Department Special Response Team is a group of officers tactically trained to respond and quell high-risk critical incidents. These incidents can include barricaded subjects, mentally disturbed and/or suicidal persons, hazardous search warrants and dangerous felony arrests.
The S. R. T. team consists of Ashland Police Officers Sgt. Lattanzi, Officers Lay, Icenhour, Cox, Alting, B. Evans and Bloodhart, Ashland County Sheriff's Department Deputies Sgt. Simms, and Dep. Marley, and Loudonville Police Department Officer Copeland.

Throughout 2001, the Special Response Team completed approximately 140 hours of In-Service Training. This included physical fitness, team movements, firearms proficiency, chemical agents and diversionary device application and other facets of tactical operations. The team also conducted training at numerous local schools, preparing for potential critical incidents.
The Ashland Police Department Special Response Team is a highly trained and equipped group in a state of readiness to respond and resolve dangerous situations that present a risk to fellow officers and the citizens of Ashland and its surrounding communities.
