Sanitation Pickup Responsibilities:

 

 

Sanitation pick up is scheduled  once a week in each area within the City of Ashland.  Information on pickup for specifics streets is available in the City Services Office at (419) 289-9791.  If you have large items to be picked up, please contact the City Services Office and schedule a pickup if it is not on your regularly scheduled pickup day.

Recycling Program Responsibilities:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Following are the guidelines for recycling:

NEWSPAPER

 

Lay flat in brown paper bags.  Inserts are accepted, but should be placed in a separate bag.  Do not include phone books!

 

Aluminum & Tin Cans

 

Rinse and clean.

 

Plastic

 

 

Include milk jugs, soap, soda and juice bottles and remove lids, rinse clean and flatten.  Plastics, cans and glass can all be placed into the same clear or white plastic bag.  Only plastic containers with a #1 or #2 can be recycled in Ashland.

 

Yardwaste Program Responsibilities:

You may purchase Yard Waste Bags from area stores. You must purchase stickers for these bags in order to have your bags picked up. The stickers cost $1.00 each and you may purchase them at the Water and Sanitation billing office at 206 Claremont Avenue. Only yard waste will be accepted in these bags i.e. grass clippings, leaves, flowers, hedge trimmings and small branches an inch or less in size.  Only bags with City issued stickers will be collected.  No stones, dirt, building materials, plastic or other trash will be accepted.  The City does encourage individual composting and mulching whenever possible.
