Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals (BZA) decides on appeals to the zoning code pertaining to signage, yard and parking requirements, and home occupations. The intent of a variance is to make a special exception to a zoning code requirement when a justifiable hardship exists that prevents the requirements from being met.
The membership of the Zoning Board of Appeals is made up of Planning Commission members with the exception of the Mayor and City Engineer.
Zoning Board of Appeals meetings (if needed) are generally held on the first Monday of each month at 4:00pm in the 3rd floor conference room of the Municipal Building. Meetings are open to the public and citizen participation is welcomed.
Agendas will be posted below on the Friday before a scheduled Zoning Board of Appeals meeting. For general questions or to inquire about making application for consideration by the Board, please contact the Building and Zoning Department, Michelle Peterman, 419-289-8744.
