What  You'll Do:

  • Administer the City's insurance program, including but not limited to:
    • enroll/cancel/modify employee's coverage
    • reconcile invoices, submit bills to Finance, calcualte payments, etc
    • serve as an onsite SME; answer questions
    • manage open enrollment
    • COBRA administration
    • etc.
  • Perform various recruiting duties, including but not limited to:
    • post jobs in print and digital media
    • maintain ATS
    • organize and distribute applications to hiring managers
    • new hire paperwork
    • etc.
  • Compiles data, prepares and submit various reports
  • Administer FMLA
  • Administer Worker's Comp Claims
  • Perform clerical tasks, including but not limited to:
    • filing
    • make copies
    • order office supplies
    • ensure office equipment is maintained properly
    • schedule and confirm appointments
    • greet and assist visitors to the office
    • receive and screen calls
    • maintain departmental record keeping system
    • prepare and maintin records related to PTO usage and balances
    • etc.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is "Dedicated to Service"
  • Has a combination of education and experience equivalent to: an associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Related Field, plus five (5) years of business office work experience
  • Is proficient in personal computer operations, MS Office, ATS, HRIS, etc; is proficient in the use of standard office equipment (PCs, multi-line phone system copier, scanner, fax, etc.)
  • Considers integrity, customer service, and accuracy to be the highest priorities
  • Has excellent communication skills with co-workers, across departments, and with the public and can communicate effectively, in-person and via telephone, email, and other correspondence
  • Has in-depth knowledge of Employment/Labor Laws and HR best practices
  • Is able to work independently or under close supervision and is well organized
  • Can learn quickly, thoroughly, and in detail
  • Can multi-task, and is adaptable to changing conditions and priorities, especially when "something comes up"

Compensation and Benefits


  • $14.00-$32.22
  • Year round work, no furloughs
  • Pension through OPERS with the City contributing an additional 14% and employees contributing 10% of wages.
  • Available 457 plan
