Block Party Permit
Putting together a neighborhood party?
Block parties are a great way to build community and get to know one another. In order to help the event go smoothly, the neighborhood may choose to close a side street for a larger space to gather and play.
The "Block Party Permit Application" notifies the various departments of the city so that the emergency services divisions are aware of events taking place. The application is not a guarantee that the neighborhood can close streets, but is the way to notify the City offices that you would like to begin the process. When the completed application is submitted, the information is reviewed by the Police Chief, the Fire Chief, and the Director of City Services and then submitted to the Mayor for final approval. Once the application is fully approved, a copy of the permit will be sent to the contact person. Providing an email address will speed the process by allowing the permit to be sent digitally.
Once the approved permit is received, please contact the Street Department (419-289-9791) to coordinate the pickup and return of the barriers to be used.
Submission of a block party application is viewed as acceptance of the above terms.
