Fall Hiking Spree - 2020
Let's Get Hiking!
The Ashland County Park District and City of Ashland Parks and Recreation Department welcome you to participate in the 2020 Fall Hiking Spree! Complete six of the hikes listed below (on your own) between September 1 and November 30, 2020, to earn a free hiking shield.

Sandusky Hollow (Enter off Edison St.)
Perimeter Trail. Access from Bank St., East off Sloan. Dead ends into driveway of Old Siler House. Park near house and go east on grass trail which leads to other trails.
Perimeter Trail .67. Walk other trails to finish your mile.
Ashland Fire Company Nature Cabin
Start at the parking lot and follow the loop, past the cabin, across the creek, and back to where you started.

Audubon Wetlands Preserve*
From parking lot, cross boardwalk, take loop around entire park (mosquito repellent suggested)
Take outer loop
About 1.5-2 miles
Cooke Family Wildlife Conservation Park**
Trail starts at parking lot and goes to left. Follow the road to the back. Then turn around and return to parking lot. Or add more distance by finishing on the Rick Cooke Memorial Trail.

Start at parking lot on Park Street. Take new paved trail for a loop
Just under 1 mile
Hurdle Waterfowl Park*
Take the trail to the right of the kiosk all the way back, circle around the two areas of water, then back to the kiosk

Pine Hill, Sauers Farm
Meadowview Trail. From parking lot, go straight past pond. Trail veers to left.
About 1 mile
River Walk Natural Area.*
Follow path from parking lot. Take inner loop. (Mosquito repellent suggested.)
*These multi-use parks will be closed during deer-gun season. Check website and/or kiosk.
**Hunting parks will be open for hiking every day in September through October 14. Hiking in hunting parks from October 15 -December 31 is on Sunday afternoons only (noon until closing). They will also be closed on the following dates for hunting: October 3, 4, 10 & 17. For your safety, we recommend that hikers wear hunter/fluorescent orange when hiking in hunting parks.
