Claremont Ave Improvement Project
Claremont Avenue (ASD-CR5016-0.16)

Project Location: The proposed Claremont Avenue improvement is approximately 1.30 miles in length beginning at Baney Road and extending to Smith Road located in the City of Ashland.
Proposed Improvements: The City of Ashland proposes to construct improvements utilizing Ohio Department of Transportation Small City Funds and Local Funds to return the roadway to serviceable condition.
The improvements include: Construction of partial and full depth pavement repairs; replacement of deteriorated portions of curb and sidewalk; asphalt pavement resurfacing; drainage replacement improvements; erosion control; traffic control including cross walks and signage. The existing lane configuration will not change. The improvements are planned inside the existing roadway right of way except for small parcels of proposed temporary and permanent right of way. Personal property items inside the existing right of way may be needed to be relocated.
Construction is currently scheduled to begin in 2022. During construction, which is expected to last nine (9) months, all roads will remain open with periodic lane closures within the project limits. The existing sidewalks within the project limits may require closure on one side at a time during construction. Driveway access may be restricted during portions of the project work typically during construction work hours.
As part of the National Environmental Policy Act require (NEPA), the City is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include those associate with historical, archeological and ecological resources, hazardous materials and general concerns people might have with the project. The project will be funded in part using Federal, State and Local funds.
