Fire Extinguisher Training
We offer Fire Extinguisher training to businesses within our coverage area. Contact Captain Mark Miller via phone 419-289-6511 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for scheduling and further information.
We are more than happy to preform a fire safety speech at your home, business, classroom, or event. We can adapt this speech to the correct age and circumstances as needed. We can even bring apparatus (fire trucks, ambulances, etc.) if manpower allows. Please contact the fire station for scheduling and further information.
Infant and Child Car Seat Installation and Inspection
The Ashland Fire Department has multiple Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians. They have completed 40 hours of instruction, practical evaluation, and continuing education. The technicians are available to demonstrate proper car seat installation and to inspect your infant/child car seat. Please contact the fire department at 419-289-6511 and ask to speak to a car seat technician to schedule an appointment or to ask questions regarding your child's car seat.
CPR / First Aid Training
We currently offer a number of different American Heart Association CPR certification, recertification and first aid training courses. Classes are held the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. See link below for course schedules. All courses are provided at the Ashland Fire Station, 274 Cleveland Ave in Ashland at 6:00pm. Below are all the descriptions of the courses and fees associated with each course. Feel free to contact the Fire Department to schedule yourself for a class and with any additional questions or concerns. Please be aware we limit class sizes to maintain proper student to instructor ratios. If you need to schedule a large class for your business or group please contact Captain Tony Coletta at 419-289-6511 or by email at email@example.com. The division reserves the right to cancel any class with less than 24 hours of notice. If this happens we will attempt to reschedule the course if possible.
Friends and Family CPR/AED
Description: The AHA’s Family & Friends® CPR Course is a video-based, classroom course intended for anyone who wants to learn CPR and prefers to learn in an Instructor-led or facilitated group environment. This course is for people who do not need a course completion card for a job or other requirements. Family & Friends CPR is ideal for community groups, parents, grandparents, caregivers, schools and students, and others interested in learning how to save a life. (American Heart Association)
Heartsaver – CPR&AED
Description: Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. The AHA's Heartsaver CPR AED Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Upon successful completion of the course, including a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years. (American Heart Association)

Description: The AHA’s BLS Course provides the foundation for saving lives from cardiac arrest. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.
